U.K. & U.S. AIRPORT ALERT: Women Homicide Bombers
5 May 2005: Airports in the U.S. and the U.K. have been placed on a heightened state of alert based on intelligence received about potential female homicide bombers. Intelligence has been obtained that Islamic radical females – as extensively detailed in the last issue of our HQ INTEL-ALERT newsletter, are being recruited to fill their undergarments – specifically their bras, with plastic explosives and detonation devices. The device is primed to detonate at the airport security checkpoint to kill and injure as many security officials and bystanders as possible.
At a Jerusalem airport in 2002, 15 year-old Ayat al-Akhrass (pictured at left), padded her bra with Semtex and detonated the bomb in a supermarket in Jerusalem, killing herself and two shoppers. Intelligence officials have received information that female Islamic women and young girls are currently being recruited for just that purpose, although their targets were identified (primarily, although not exclusively) as airports.
According to the London Telegraph, Scotland Yard has sent official memos to all the major airports throughout the U.K. According to one U.S. insider TSA official, airports throughout the U.S. are equally concerned about the threat. “The terrorists have no regard for human life, and parents encourage their young daughters to .martyr themselves’ for the cause of jihad.” The women terrorists are also taught to make security officials feel uneasy about checking such private areas, hoping that one or more female bombers, especially young girls, will successfully be permitted to pass through the screening process. They are told to act afraid, embarrassed, and even cite their religious customs in order to dissuade screeners from checking too closely. If that plan fails, however, they will detonate the bomb at the checkpoint.

North American Aircraft Are Under Attack By High-Powered Lasers

3 January 2005-- Last Monday a high-powered laser weapon was intentionally directed into the cockpit of a Continental Airlines flight for several seconds while approaching the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The aircraft was still at an altitude of 8,500 feet. The laser was determined to have been fired from a residential area in suburban Warrensville Heights.
The disturbing thing about this attack is that it is not an isolated incident, but rather it is a new terrorist tactic, the tactical goal of which is to bring down commercial aircraft by literally blinding the pilots. The FBI and the US Department of Homeland Security recently issued an official memo warning of exactly this intent. The memo read in part:
"Although lasers are not proven methods of attack like improvised explosive devices and hijackings, terrorist groups overseas have expressed interest in using these devices against human sight. In certain circumstances, if laser weapons adversely affect the eyesight of both pilot and co-pilot during a non-instrument approach, there is a risk of airliner crash."
Well, I am here to tell you that these terrorists are not entirely overseas, they are right here in the USA and they can strike at any commercial airport in the United States and Canada. Back in 1997 the first reported incident occurred when a US Navy officer received eye injuries as the Royal Canadian helicopter he was in was fired on by a laser from a Russian trawler (i.e.: spy ship) in the Puget Sound of Washington State. More recently in April 2004 two Royal Canadian helicopter pilots were illuminated by a laser also fired from a Russian trawler. And thats just for starters. According to Bill Gertz of the Washington Times, on September 28, 2004 a Delta Airlines commercial flight had one of its pilots suffering from acute eye injury when a laser targeted the cockpit as the plane approached the Salt Lake City airport in Utah.
According to the NASA Aviation Safety Reporting System there are records of this kind of attack for the last two years against commercial flights within the continental United States as aircraft approached or departed the international airports of Honolulu, Las Vegas, Miami, New York City, Los Angeles and Phoenix. In one such incident at LAX both the pilot and the co-pilot of a 737 on departure were hit by a 5 to 10 second laser blast and suffered burns to their eyes and broken blood vessels. An aircraft at Phoenix had one crewman blinded for an hour and a half after being hit by a laser strike.
Finally, according to the United States National Air Intelligence Center over 50 such incidents of aircraft operating in North American skies have been subjected to powerful laser attacks within the past year or two. North American aircraft and pilots are under attack. Now you know the truth. If youre a frequent flyer, now you know why more and more pilots are wearing mirrored sunglasses.
Airplanes and Airports still rank high on Terrorist Wish List

1 January 2005-- There has been much scuttlebutt and many rumors flying around about terrorists still planning to target airports, airplanes and passengers. A report surfacing earlier this month in the Spanish Press indicates that the State Security forces in Valencia, Spain have been on extremely high alert status after the British Secret Service passed along a report that there are currently nine suspected terrorists from North America who plan to board an airliner and use electronic immobilizers to commit a terrorist act sometime before, during or after the Christmas and New Year Holidays. It was reported that their most likely target for this terrorist act will be either inside of the United States or the United Kingdom. Originally the terrorist cell had thirteen members dedicated to this plot.
Four of the original thirteen terrorist suspects have already been arrested and upon further investigation have apparently given the authorities reason to believe that the other nine will attempt to proceed with their plans to commit an atrocity very soon. These four were arrested in Amsterdam at the Schipol Airport and a full investigation was mounted immediately which has resulted in High Alerts being issued to find the nine remaining terrorist suspects.
The four suspects that were arrested were all North American citizens of Arabic origin aged between 18 and 24 and it was noted that they were unshaven. Each were traveling on single tickets, paid for in cash and they were carrying guns and pepper spray along with photographs and CDs (contents of the CDs and photographs were not made public).
It has been the contention of this writer, almost to the point of argument with others that the airports, airliners and passengers within these are and will always remain prime targets to the terrorists. Many have argued with me that the security in and around the airline industry makes this scenario very unlikely and always throw into the argument that since they hijacked planes once, they are less likely to do it again.
I think that thought process is not only ridiculous but incredible irresponsible and dangerous. When Al Qaedas nineteen agents of death hijacked those airplanes in 2001 they set a precedent within the world of terrorism. They forced the complete shutdown of the entire airline industry within minutes, kept the skies closed for several days and the reality is that the airline industry has never recovered from this frightful chain of events. If the terrorists can succeed in pulling off another 911 like event, they may cripple the industry with a fatal blow. The airline industry is very unstable right now from a financial standpoint, people are still wary of flying, there are constant security breaches by the hundreds every single day at airports around the globe and it doesnt seem to be getting much better. Airlines are at the brink of bankruptcy and the terrorists know this.
To attack the airline industry again isnt a question of whether it will happen, it is a question of when it will happen. To attack our airliners again will also be a slap in the face for the simple fact that we have spent billions of dollars trying to make the planes, airports and passengers safer and with another attack on the airline industry itself, the billions will seem to have been wasted in the eyes of many. Think about it. Al Qaeda was smart enough to realize that by striking the airlines they would ultimately cripple the airlines or at least make it very difficult for the airline industry to survive, let alone do well or be profitable. They have and always will consider our economic resources to be our greatest assets, so they will always target those assets. The WTC itself was indeed a symbolic target, but the towers themselves didnt cripple the economy anywhere near the extent that the four airliners being lost did.

Incident at LAX
4 September 2004--Although initial reports suggested that one or two "explosions" took place at LAX, new reports suggest that the closure of Tom Bradley International Terminal, which is a totally separate facility-terminal 5- within the Los Angeles airport, was caused by an individual of "specific concern" who breached security. The Tom Bradley terminal is connected to other portions of the airport, but because intenational flights arrive and depart from there it is fairly isolated. There indeed was an incident that took place earlier involving a person of concern to law enforcement, although details from the scene are presently "sketchy" at best. According to Northeast Intelligence Network analyst and investigator Sean Osborne, details are still emerging amid the initial reports which are only partially accurate.
As a precaution, airport terminals 6, 7, and 8 were evacuated due to a concurrent incident at that location that could be related to terminal 5. Presently, flights are being allowed to land - but no departures or unloading of aircraft are occuring at this time.

Harmless Glitch or Internal Security Breach?
As we reported earlier, air traffic controllers lost radio contact with hundreds of airplanes in-flight on Tuesday over the western portion of the US. As a result, there were five "close calls" involving planes in-flight and at least two near-mid-air collisions, according to air traffic controllers. One involved a UPS flight en route from Louisville Kentucky to Orange County, California, and another involved a Boeing 757 passenger jet headed to San Diego from Detroit.
The incidents occurred shortly after controllers lost radio contact with at least 400 aircraft traveling to and from airports in the western US. Authorities stated that a computer unexpectedly shut down because technicians "forgot" to service the computer as required every 30 days and as they did not "purge the hard drive,"the computer overloaded.
Interestingly, the backup system also failed, reportedly stopping radio transmissions to pilots in mid-sentence. Controllers describe the next 13 minutes as "chaos," as some planes began to converge. Hamid Ghaffari, local president of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association told The Associated Press three workers filed injury claims, saying they were traumatized by seeing flights veer toward one another on radar without being able to do anything.

27 August 2004 - Explosives residue (similar to that used by Islamic rebels) found in wreckage
Traces of explosives have been found in the wreckage of one of two airliners that crashed nearly simultaneously earlier this week, the Federal Security Service said Friday, a day after a top official acknowledged that terrorism was the most likely cause of the crashes.
A duty officer at the agency, the main successor to the Soviet-era KGB, confirmed reports on Russian news agencies that cited agency spokesman Sergei Ignatchenko as saying that "preliminary analysis indicates it was hexogen."
The announcement came several hours after a Web site known for militant Muslim published a claim of responsibility for the twin crashes, connecting the action to Russia's fight against separatists in Chechnya.
The Russian news reports said the explosive traces were found in the wreckage of a Tu-154 that was one of two planes that crashed Tuesday night, killing at least 89 people.
Although the planes disappeared from radar screens within minutes of each other after taking off from the same airport, Moscow's Domodedovo, Russian officials had held back from connecting them to terrorism, citing bad fuel and human error as other possible causes.
The Russian presidential envoy for the region that includes Chechnya, Vladimir Yakovlev, however, conceded Thursday that terrorism was seen as the most likely cause.
27 August 2004 - Islamic group claims responsibility for twin Russian plane crashes
A claim of responsibility for the downing of two Russian planes appeared on a Web site known for militant Muslim comment Friday.
The statement, which accused Russians of killing Muslims in Chechnya (search), was signed "the Islambouli Brigades." A group with a similar name has claimed at least one previous attack, but the legitimacy of the group and the authenticity of such statements could not be verified.
Russian officials have said terrorism was the most likely cause of Tuesday's plane crashes, which killed 89 people.
"We in the Islambouli Brigades announce that our holy warriors managed to hijack two Russian planes and were crowned with success though they faced problems at the beginning," the statement said without elaborating on the problems.
Friday's statement said five mujahedeen (Islamic fighters) were on board each plane and their wills will be published soon.
The statement did not explain how the hijackers boarded the planes, how they downed them or give any other details.
"Russia's slaughtering of Muslims is continuing and will only stop when a bloody war is launched," the statement said. "Our mujahedeen, with God's grace, succeeded in directing the first blow, which will be followed by a series of other operations in a wave of to extend support and victory to our Muslim brothers in Chechnya and other Muslim areas which suffer from Russian faithlessness."
A July 31 Web statement signed the "Islambouli Brigades of Al Qaeda" claimed responsibility for the attempt to assassinate Shaukat Aziz (search), Pakistan's prime minister-designate. Friday's claim did not refer to Al Qaeda, the international terror network led by Osama bin Laden.
Lt. Khaled Islambouli was the leader of the group of soldiers who assassinated Egyptian President Anwar Sadat during a military parade in Cairo in 1981.
Terror in Russian Skies in wake of Chechnyan Elections
Two Airliners Downed 90 Dead
In an obvious act of coordinated terrorism, two Russian passenger airliners originating from Moscow's Domodedovo Airport were blown from the skies within minutes of each other, killing all 90 passengers and crew from both aircraft. In the wake of Chechnyan elections scheduled for this Sunday, Russian officials had expressed previous concerns of terrorist acts in the days leading up the elections. The upcoming elections will choose a successor to Akhmad Kadyrov, who was assassinated on May 9th in the Chechen capital of Grozny.
Debris from the Tupolev TU-154 that carried 38 passengers and 8 crew members from Moscow was discovered in the Rostov region; debris from the second flight also originating from Moscow, a Volga Avia Express TU-134 carrying 35 passengers and 9 crew members was found in the Tula region, 125 miles south of Moscow. Witnesses in Tula reported seeing an explosion before the plane plunged out of the sky.
Sources within US Intelligence Agencies have expressed concern for an increase of terrorist events in the United States in the days leading up to the November presidential elections. Intelligence analysts from the Northeast Intelligence Network have found signs of cooperative efforts between Chechen separatist rebels and Islamic fundamentalists from al Qaeda, especially in recent months, based on Internet communications and US government sources. This incident appears to have the signature of al Qaeda, and is privately causing further concern for the November elections here in the US.

Air travelers are advised to remain vigilant even after boarding an aircraft and urged to notify flight personnel of unusual interaction between seemingly unrelated passengers.
7 January 2004-- Information obtained exclusively by the Northeast Intelligence Network provided additional insight into the terrorists' operational plans involving at least one and perhaps more of the recently grounded flights. According to these sources, the following method of operation is "continuing" and will likely result in additional international flights being grounded.
It is already well known that women are being used as "mules" to smuggle explosive material onto airplanes. The other undisclosed aspect of these plans, according to information confirmed by intelligence officials, is that each woman is "accompanied" by 1-2 other people onto a targeted aircraft. The other passengers do not appear to have any connection to the female passenger whatsoever and even carry passports from other countries. These covert associates carry other electronic items that alone, appear harmless (such as a personal CD player, for example) but are actually intended to be used as components for the explosive device. These items are checked and pass through security as they are operational.
Once aboard the aircraft, there is "quiet" interaction between operatives to pass all of the necessary bomb-making components to the delegated operative who assembles the device in the bathroom of the aircraft. At that point, they have "successfully" breached the intense security and have a workable and deadly explosive device that has been assembled at 30,000 feet.
