American Graffiti or Al Qaeda Threat?

By Douglas J. Hagmann, Director

5 February 2007 Our aircraft are continued targets and potential tools of terrorists. Given their present status, magnified exponentially when viewed through the prism of 9/11, any suspicious events, oddities, and all unusual circumstances relating to our planes and their operation must be given significant consideration by the authorities.

Annie Jacobsen, author of Terror in the Skies, Why 9/11 could happen again, has been actively investigating a series of unusual circumstances involving mysterious writing in unusual areas aboard our aircraft. Having been an investigator in the private sector for the last 21 years, I have found Ms. Jacobsen to be a tenacious, well-reasoned, balanced and thorough investigative journalist. In this most recent case, I have had the opportunity to review her investigative findings to date. I have found the circumstances surrounding these writings to be curious to say the least.

One of my favorite quotations attributed to the mythical detective Sherlock Holmes is, “It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important.” That quote just might be applicable to the matter under investigation by Ms. Jacobsen. Whatever the case, we are at war, and we cannot afford to overlook anything.
