26 November 2008; 12:30 PM ET: Lest we forget we are a nation at war, the FBI jointly with the Department of Homeland Security has just issued a specific warning of an increased terror threat to New York City area transit systems. While some media outlets are reporting a threat specific to subway systems, this threat extends to all transit systems including subways, rail, bridges and tunnels within the Five Boroughs.

November 26, 2008: New York City police, Transit Police, officials from various other police agencies and federal officials are making their presence known. Traffic to and from the city is presently under heavy surveillance by air, and additional law enforcement assets have been dispatched. Police equipped with radiation detectors and bomb-sniffing dogs are present at strategic locations throughout the city.

The Northeast Intelligence Network previously reported on such threats in this article dated November 9, 2008 by Randy Taylor, and detailed further on the NEIN Blog maintained by Associate Director Sean Osborne.

It is important to note that numerous individuals have been sighted and caught since the 9/11 attacks conducting surveillance on our infrastructure.
