A case of political censorship?

By Douglas J. Hagmann, Director

29 June 2012: Is political and religious censorship and a full-frontal assault on free speech active in America today? Based on my personal experiences, I can attest that it is. Unpopular or dissenting opinions, particularly noticed under the Obama “regime,” are not welcomed on many internet platforms.

Having appeared on The Tom Bauerle Show on WBEN AM 930 just 48 hours ago discussing this very topic, I was contacted by Mr. Bauerle this morning who has a problem that until late last night, he has never had before. ┬áMr. Bauerle, who has a popular Facebook page with a few thousand followers, is suddenly and inexplicably unable to post anything to his site. No warning, no advisory, no error message – nothing.

A talk show host who is clear and vocal about his views with this administration, was preparing to post a link to an adversarial yet completely G-rated article about the actions of Obama when without warning, his ability to post vanished. Gone. His account appears to be frozen in time, leaving his listeners unable to interact with him.

Coincidence? We don’t know, but there seems to be a lot more of these incidents taking place these days, with greater frequency than ever before. Could this be the proverbial canary in the coal mine?

Time – and investigation – will tell.

UPDATE: Mr. Bauerle regained his posting ability 90 minutes after this article appeared.
