al Qaeda in America: U.S. physician found GUILTY of providing support to al Qaeda

Updated: 21 May 2007: Florida physician Rafiq Abdus SABIR, 52, was found guilty in a Manhattan federal court of providing material support to terrorists by agreeing to treat injured al-Qaeda fighters so they could return to Iraq to battle Americans. The trial lasted three weeks and came after jurors heard audio tapes of a May 2005 ceremony in a Bronx apartment in which Sabir and his best friend, Tariq Shah, a martial arts expert and jazz musician, pledged loyalty to al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.

al Qaeda in America: Trial for U.S. physician continues

4 May 2007: The trial of Florida doctor Rafiq Abdus SABIR, 52, charged with pledging to provide material support to al-Qaeda by offering to treat the group’s injured fighters, continues today in a New York federal courtroom. SABIR, a graduate of Columbia University, was arrested in 2005 at his home in Boca Raton, Florida. His associates, Tarik SHAH, a martial arts expert and New York jazz musician, and Mahmud Faruq BRENT, a Maryland taxi driver, have pleaded guilty to similar charges and face between 13 and 15-year sentences.

From stolen fertilizer to shop vacs… or how not to alarm the public

INVESTIGATIVE REPORT By Douglas J. Hagmann, Director

21 May 2007: Question: What looks like fertilizer, smells like fertilizer, is packaged commercially like fertilizer, is labeled as fertilizer, has a total weight of 5 tons, and is the subject of a wide search by law enforcement officials? Answer: Twenty-eight pallets of commercial “shop vac” style vacuum cleaners, according to public information officials at the Los Angeles Police Department. The story itself smells as bad as the raw cargo that went missing from a tractor trailer in the Los Angeles area sometime Sunday. The mysterious morphing of 5 tons of potentially lethal bomb material, however crude, into 28 pallets of high-powered sucking devices evolved unchecked by media sources, but became the target of our research and investigation.

Since the initial report that a tractor trailer hauling five tons - 10,000 pounds of nitrate based fertilizer was stolen in California on Sunday, the Northeast Intelligence Network has been closely researching this incident. According to initial reports, a tractor-trailer was stolen while the driver took a break Sunday afternoon, parking his truck in an industrial area near Griffith Park, northeast of downtown Los Angeles. When he returned for his rig about 5 hours later, the tractor-trailer was gone. According to the initial reports to law enforcement, the driver was transporting 10,000 pounds of bagged nitrate based fertilizer he was to deliver from Texas to the Home Depot store in Tracy, California.

About 12 hours later, authorities became more concerned when the truck was recovered about 20 miles north of Los Angels in Carson, minus the 10,000 pounds of fertilizer. At that time, a call was put out by LAPD to be on the lookout for the fertilizer, as fertilizer-based compounds wee used in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing as well as the 1995 Murrah Building bombing. Shortly after the announcement of the theft was made, the public backstrokes began. Officer Martha Garcia, a LAPD police department spokeswoman, said investigators believe the missing fertilizer “does not contain anything that could be used to make an explosive, but they were taking precautions.” Precautions indeed.

To put it into proper perspective, the missing cargo consists of about twice as much nitrate based fertilizer that was used in the 1995 bombing of the Murrah Building that killed 168 people and 3 unborn children. Also noteworthy is the fact that about 1500 pounds of nitrate based fertilizer, about one-seventh of the missing cargo, was used in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing that killed 6 people and injured over a thousand more.

As Sunday turned into Monday, the fertilizer turned into shop vacs. Apparently, according to law enforcement sources, there was never any fertilizer so there is absolutely no public danger, unless you are unfortunate enough to allow a vital appendage to be sucked into one of the wayward high powered vacuums.

In an attempt to determine fact from fiction, the Northeast Intelligence Network contacted law enforcement sources and a variety of other sources in and around Los Angeles. None of the “official spokespersons” for the law enforcement agencies involved in this case would comment on the matter or explain how such a mix-up concerning the cargo of the truck could have occurred, especially for the length of time that it did.

After exhausting all of the official law enforcement channels, I contacted the Home Depot store in Tracy, California - the intended customer of the fertilizer. I spoke with three different people holding different positions in the store, all who have knowledge of such deliveries. Unsurprisingly, no one would go on record about the delivery of the fertilizer to their garden department. I did, however, manage to learn two things from these unlikely sources:

First, if you are in the market for a shop vac, they have plenty in stock. Secondly, if you need bags of nitrate based fertilizer, you might want to check with another store.

Lessons Learned: Realistic Family Preparedness

By Sean Osborne, Associate Director, Military Affairs

UPDATED 20 May 2007: Having just endured a near disaster in the wild fires of southern New Jersey, as well as the prospect of a mandatory evacuation with no guarantee that the family home would still exist in the aftermath, I’ve come away from this experience with significant additional lessons learned on how to prudently plan and prepare in advance of an unforeseen catastrophe. These lessons are an augmentation to those I have already put into place. I believe the application of the following plan might be a template upon which others could build a more robust family preparedness plan.

With respect to a mass-casualty or mass-destruction terrorist event, many American national authorities are clearly stating that it is not a question of “if, but when” such a reality visits this nation again. Similarly and with respect to any of a number of different types of natural disasters - earth, wind, water and fire - they also can occur at any time and almost without warning anywhere in the country. Following these preparatory guidelines and/or merging them with others, given the uniqueness of your own situation, will ensure the optimum chances of your family’s well-being or near-term survival at home or if evacuated to a remote location in a worst-case scenario. Following the recommendations of this special report will also go a long way relieving the unnecessary stress and tensions of last minute collecting of materials you will need to endure almost any situation.

One inherent beauty of such planning and preparation is that it invokes the most inviolate of all God-given American freedoms – the enabling right of self-determination. This planning and preparation might very likely become the critical determination as to whether or not you become just another hapless victim or a survivor.

A long-time favorite self-determination and preparedness website of mine is that of John Moore’s website As John explains on his website, “The government cannot and will not protect individuals or families. Our government agencies are doing the best job they can to keep our country safe. However, no government agency (including FEMA) is responsible for a comprehensive defense program.”

Moreover, all facets of the safety, security and well-being of your family during a disaster scenario is your personal duty and responsibility. This is absolutely not the responsibility of the “government” regardless of all that you have heard in the MSM in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Uncle Sam will show up with multiple forms of assistance in due course, but until that time arrives you need to prepare as if your lives depended on it, because they probably will.

Here are my brief and basic recommendations for before you are confronted with a “gotta go” situation:

Finance: Keep an acceptable amount of cold, hard cash, a spare debit or credit card in a convenient yet secure location in your home, vehicle or within prepared the stocks I’ll get to later. In some really extreme instances banks or ATMs may not function where you are, so the cash will be essential.

Transportation: If you own an SUV make sure it has a roof rack. If not, get one. If you have a car, the addition of a roof rack is a good idea. Also, the addition of a trailer hitch is a good idea. You don’t necessarily need a trailer for the hitch, but it is how you can attach a carry-all for other items I will identify below. As part of this area of preparation know where you can go in an emergency by identifying in advance at least three locations to evacuate to aside from public shelters. Have two filled 5-gallon auxiliary gasoline jerry cans in reserve at all times. A hand-operated siphon eliminates spillage. Always keep your vehicle in good running order.

Communications: I recommend the purchase of a Grundig FR-200 AM-FM-Shortwave radio. No batteries are required as it is powered by a simple hand crank mechanism. Have your cell phone fully charged as often as possible, and keep a spare 12VDC cigarette power adapter in your vehicle at all times. If you have a laptop computer, buy a wireless internet adapter card. Remote off-the-grid power is found in the next item below.

Portable Electrical Power: Consider purchasing one of the Xpower AC/DC powerpack modules made by Xantrex. They are small, hand-portable, rechargeable powerpacks which come with an AC/DC voltage inverter, integrated vehicle jumper cables (with fail-safe correct connection indicators), a 250 PSI air compressor with assorted nozzles, an integrated flashlight and one each 12VDC and 120VAC electrical outlets, and AC or DC recharging. I have the 400R model and find this unit to be absolutely invaluable all of the time.

Physical Security: No regimen of preparation is complete without acknowledging the need for the physical security requirements of the family or oneself. In this regard, and consistent with the state and local laws where you live, every family should invoke their 2nd Amendment rights and acquire some type of firearm for defensive protection.

When “Gotta-Go” time arrives here are items I recommend having in pre-packed, ready to load, modular containers which will go on your roof rack and/or trailer hitch carry all.

Consumable Sustenance: This is just another fancy way of saying life support essentials. Acquire non-perishable foods, dry, canned or dehydrated from your home pantry or cupboard. These supplies should be consumed and replaced with new as required. Augment this collection with the purchase of what are known today as MREs or Meals Ready To Eat. For a family of four persons a minimum of eight 12-meal cases should be accumulated. Two sources of these items I recommend are and A great assortment of tasty and nutritious meals, breads, fruits and drinks, among other items, are available at very low per meal/per person costs. Also keep a minimum of 4 cases of bottled water on hand. It would be advisable to have at least one 25-quart cooler to be filled with short-term perishables pulled directly from your refrigerator/freezer and then covered with 2 or 3 bags of ice. Depending on the situation, draining the water for other uses or purification is a bonus. The ice may be replenished according to your particular situation. At the minimum your refrigerated/frozen food will not have gone to waste.

Medicines and Sanitation: Keep all medicines and medical supplies, items for personal hygiene, vitamins and dietary supplements centrally located for quick accumulation in an emergency. Store some items in a prepared container. I highly recommend acquiring from a “Standard Trauma Kit.” Also purchase and keep sealed in their original wrapper several tubs of “baby wipes” of generic or national brands. These little pre-moistened handy wipes are just about indispensable whether you’re in Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan or somewhere in the US during an emergency. They will save gallons of precious water when used to take “a “dry bath.”  I would be remiss in not mentioning one medicinal item I would never leave home without. That would be a bottle of the virucidal-germicidal solution known as Oreganol P73 formula made by North American Herb & Spice. Oreganol contains the naturally occuring active ingredient carvacrol which kills virtually every virus known to man. Just two drops of Oreganol in your system will maintain your health against all manner of viruses. Certified medical research has proven the effectiveness of this product against Coronavirus, Type-A Influenza virus, with on-going studies reflecting positive results against HIV, HBV, HCV, herpes, Hanta and West Nile viruses, H5N1 Avian Influenza, Staphylococcus, Hepatitis, Candida. The other incredible health benefits of this product are far too numerous to list here. Oreganol is a germ-killer extraordinaire and can be taken internally or applied topically.

“Gimme Shelter:” Purchase one or two quick-erect, 4 to 6 person dome tents. Add ground cover or water-proof tarps for each. Adding blankets, pillows, hammocks, sleeping bags, or cots to your shopping list will ensure comfort. Some of these items can be stored in the vacuum-sealed bags seen advertised on television. This saves space and keeps the bedding fresh until needed. The same goes for items of clothing and footware. Purchase assorted camping related items and nylon rope, axe, hatchet, chain saw and the like for this segment of preparations.

As a rule of thumb, I have determined to always be prepared for a minimum of 30 days of survival necessities for four persons. Your circumstances will dictate what you can do. For other ideas, and an excellent resource you will delve into repeatedly, I would highly recommend you get the book What To Do ‘Til The Cavalry Comes released a year ago by author and subject matter expert Matt Lawrence (website: ). Matt’s book is a compendium of sage advice and a guide to prudent planning for any type of a given scenario such as I am urging all to immediately prepare for with this article. There is no time like the present.

What you decide to do from this point forward will determine more than just your own survival in a natural or a man-made disaster. Others are counting on you to act prudently - now.

Kennedy assassin Sirhan Sirhan & 9/11: foreknowledge of an attack?

INVESTIGATIVE REPORT By Douglas J. Hagmann, Director

“According to the former prison guard at Corcoran, Sirhan Sihan, did something in the months before 9/11 he had not done at any other time during his decades of incarceration – he ordered a television set for his cell.”

20 May 2007: Sirhan Bishara Sirhan is the convicted assassin of U.S. Senator and 1968 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy. He is currently serving a life sentence at the state penitentiary in Corcoran, California, having escaped a death sentence due to a 1972 California Supreme Court ruling that invalidated all pending death sentences imposed prior to 1972. Sirhan’s motives for killing Kennedy remain a looming question among academics and conspiracy theorists alike. Many believe that Sirhan killed Kennedy due to his pro-Israel stance and the support he would likely provide Israel as the future president of the United States. Most notably, Kennedy was assassinated exactly one year after the start of the 1967 Six-Day war, a date considered less than coincidental by most. Some consider the assassination as one of the first cases of personal jihad in contemporary history.

Whatever the motive, I had the benefit of reviewing the assassination case from the perspective of a criminalist while I was at the Laboratory of Forensic Science under the instruction of Professor Herbert MacDonell. Mr. MacDonell is the Professor of Criminalistics and head of the Laboratory of Forensic Science in Corning, NY where I attended. Knowing that he extensively reviewed evidence first-hand of the Kennedy assassination, I am convinced that based on the evidence alone, that there is much more to this assassination that will ever be made known. Perhaps then, it was more than serendipitous that I received information this week from a former guard at the prison in Corcoran, California about the curious behavior of Sirhan Bishara Sirhan in the months, weeks and days preceding the 9/11 attacks.

Because of the commutation of his death sentence, Sirhan Sirhan has had the luxury of observing world events from his prison cell. According to one of the former guards at Corcoran, Sirhan not only had the ability to communicate with others outside of prison, he did so regularly. According to this former guard who watched over and spoke to the prisoner on numerous occasions, and had close access to him from the mid-1990’s to well after September 11, 2001, Sirhan Sirhan received a lot of mail from addresses in the Middle East, almost all written in Arabic.

It is important to note here that since 9/11, the U.S. prison system has come under sharp criticism for failing to adequately monitor terrorist inmates’ communications - both incoming and outgoing. A 2006 Justice Department’s inspector general report noted that three terrorists imprisoned for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing had sent nearly 100 letters to alleged terrorists overseas from the maximum-security facility in Colorado where they were being held. The cases of Islamic Imams serving as prison counselors in New York and other states acting as communications conduits are also prolific, illustrating not only a bilateral communications system between prisoners and known and potential terrorists, but a system of potential prisoner recruitment into the Islamic-jihad terrorist cause.

One of the more recent examples of such communications is illustrated in the case of attorney Lynne Stewart, an attorney who represented the blind Egyptian Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, the Muslim terrorist who was convicted in 1996 of plotting attacks against various sites in the New York City area. The attorney for the blind Sheikh reportedly passed instructional messages from Rahman to his terrorist operatives that resulted in the resumption of terrorist operations in Egypt. In a case mired in controversy, Stewart was found guilty of conspiracy, providing material support to terrorists on February 10, 2005.

It is therefore not unthinkable that Sirhan Sirhan has not only maintained, but perhaps developed contacts with Islamic terrorists or at the very least, sympathizers to the common cause of Islamic jihad and the destruction of Israel and the U.S. Again, there are those who will dispute the motives of Sirhan Sirhan and even dispute his guilt in the actual assassination. Based on the evidence I have seen and from the first-hand accounts of Professor MacDonell, I absolutely concur that there remain a lot of important unanswered questions and evidence that conflicts with the published facts of this case. That, however, is another article altogether. The bottom line is that Sirhan Bishara Sirhan has been incarcerated for the last 30-plus years and has substantial Middle Eastern connections that existed before and concurrent with the attacks of 9/11.

According to the former prison guard at Corcoran, Sirhan Sihan, did something in the months before 9/11 he had not done at any other time during his decades of incarceration - he ordered a television set for his cell. Interestingly, he showed no interest in watching television, only to occasionally check to make sure that the TV worked.

Then, on September 10, 2001, Sirhan Sirhan did something else he had not done before - he shaved his head. Although he was always a “clean cut” inmate according to this prison guard, he had never shaved his head. According to the prison guard, inmates in California often shave their heads immediately before their gangs go to war against other factions to show their solidarity and support.

Then, on the morning of 9/11 Sirhan was up early in his cell watching his TV for the first time when the news broke about the planes hitting the World Trade Center. In some manner, it is obvious that Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, 33 years after the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy and a guest of the California prison system, had advance knowledge of the events of September 11, 2001.

A great number of questions remain, from the events of the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy to the events of 9/11. Based on the information from one prison guard, who was advised not to talk about the actions of Sirhan Sirhan or the FBI’s extensive questioning of the prisoner beginning on September 12, 2001 and lasting for 3 weeks, it appears that a California prisoner who changed the course of history has at least some of the answers.

Why isn’t there anyone in government asking the questions?

Jihad training inside the U.S.: Muslim man “training for combat” sentenced to 10 months in jail

“This defendant was (shooting) weapons with people who were intent on engaging in Jihad against the United States,” –Federal prosecutor Shelley Hicks

19 May 2007: Pakistani student and Taliban recruit Shiraz Syed QAZI, 26, serves as yet another example that Muslim men, intent on engaging in acts of Islamic jihad, are training for war right here inside the United States. Shiraz Syed QAZI, a Pakistani student in the U.S. who was found guilty of possession of a firearm by an alien during a trial in January, was sentenced on Thursday to ten-(10) months in jail, after which he is likely to be deported. He has already served just under six months in jail which will be credited to his sentence.

According to authorities, QAZI and three other Muslim men went on a paramilitary training outing in 2005 outside of Houston, Texas. Under federal law, it is illegal for a nonimmigrant with a student visa like QAZI to own or possess firearms or ammunition. He was convicted after a brief non-jury trial in the courtroom of U.S. District Judge Lee Rosenthal.

Two of the other men, Adnan Babar MIRZA and Kobie Diallo WILLIAMS, were charged with conspiracy to join the Taliban and fight U.S. forces based on admissions made before, during and after the “camping trip,” which was decidedly paramilitary training by Muslim men “preparing for war.” The men were photographed by a government informant firing and holding guns during the outing.

MIRZA is a 29-year-old Pakistani who overstayed a student visa. He has been charged with three-(3) counts of violating federal firearms laws. His trial is scheduled to begin in late October and faces from five to 10 years for each charge.

WILLIAMS, 33, is a U.S. citizen who pleaded guilty to conspiracy and is set to be sentenced on October 12, 2007. He faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The fourth member of the group, Syed Maaz SHAH, is a 19-year-old Pakistani student at the University of Texas at Dallas. SHAH was charged with possession of a firearm by an alien and is scheduled for trial next week, facing up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

The latest from “undercover al Qaeda soldier” Raken Ben Williams

Analysis by “Archangel”

Specific threats to U.S. cities & regions18 May 2007: A posting on an Arabic language forum earlier this week has garnered the attention and received updated embellishment by an Internet poster known as “Raken Ben Williams.” For those unfamiliar with the name “Raken Ben Williams” or his history in counter-terrorism and media venues, he has been presented as an “al Qaeda undercover soldier” possibly living inside the U.S. or Great Britain. He is also the purported author of an Internet posting called the “Last Warning to American People” that gained media attention in the spring of last year.

According to the London daily Arabic language newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat on November 8, 2005, Raken Ben Williams was introduced by The Global Islamic Media Front. Raken ben Williams is reportedly a “new soldier” in the Islamic war against the West, and is a “white Englishman who converted to Islam.”

For a comprehensive analysis about Raken Ben Williams, consider consulting the article published by Michelle Malkin on March 12, 2006. Meanwhile, the latest posting by Raken Ben Williams that has yet to be circulated among the Arabic language forums or reported in the media was obtained by “Archangel.” The initial posting appeared earlier this week, followed by additions made by “Raken Ben Williams.” An analysis by Archangel follows the “warning” published by Raken Ben Williams.

Quote: For your information operations are ready, but we are waiting for orders from our leader Sheikh higher ((Osama bin Laden, may God preserve him))

Quote: 1) a more qualitative operation in the largest cities of America and nerve economic fundamentals:

Not surprisingly, these operations strike nuclear weapons deadly and destructive, even in the number of trucks, which are not detectable by the grace of God, and the selection of three cities nominate President, are:

* New York again: because it is the backbone of economic + proof that God is with us and that the mujahideen are capable of beating several times.

* Los Angeles: to be the most important city on the west coast of the States atheist.

* Florida : because it is the gathering on the east coast in addition to the presence of the Kennedy Center for Space Research. - Could increase the number as demand will and to include for example - as long as we dreamed and only God knows, we witnessed the right-:

* Texas, to contain the largest American oil companies, [companies Bush and paucity Riza Rice, Rumsfeld and poorly evangelists from the new Crusaders]

* Seattle, the strategic position on the Canadian border in the far west of the United States. We do not forget Washington, of course, the political status.

End post

An extensive analysis of this posting notes that this was most likely written using an English keyboard by an English speaking person. This is clear by the punctuation used in the article. For instance, the colons and semi-colons are on the right when they should be on the left:

and the asterisks are on the left when they should be on the right:

Arabic reads right to left in its true form. This posting does not. Additionally, the translation is “too clean,” suggesting that someone who either speaks both English and Arabic created and posted this, or they used translation software to transpose from English to Arabic.

Either this is a planted or “seeded” post (noting that we have previously identified self-proclaimed analysts who have been caught doing such things in the past), or it is actually from an English “Raken Ben Williams,” or lastly, it is from a good hoax writer.

In any event, this will eventually make its rounds in counter-terrorism venues. It’s intelligence value, however, remains under analysis. With the specificity that this particular posting provides, we would be remiss not to publish it - well in advance of it being circulated in the more commonly frequented al Qaeda Arabic language forums.

Note from the Northeast Intelligence Network investigative analysts: We agree with an assessment made by a man named John Noonan at “The Officer’s Club:”

“Real ‘large scale operations’ come after periods of relative tranquility. Surprise is the most important factor in war, a condition religiously followed by off-the-grid asymmetrically minded AQ types…”

Iraq: How NOT To Fight A War

By Randy Taylor Independent Analyst

17 May 2007: As the war in Iraq loses more and more popularity with the people in the United States each day, one has to wonder how the enemy perceives us and why they see us in this light. I’ll give you a quick clue. The enemy views us as losers with no military prowess or military capability and they see us as losing the war to a bunch of low dollar thugs. We used to be the greatest superpower on earth and everyone knew it. Those days are long gone and you can thank the Democrats for helping this along. No, the Republicans are not blameless in this mess as their failures over the last few years prompted this change in the American spirit and also gave the Democrats the needed fuel “for change” the last elections. Point is, the Democrats are headed completely down the wrong path and making record time doing it. If this war had been progressing better in 2005-2006 the Democrats wouldn’t be in power today. But because of the administrations failures people wanted to try new management.

More on Jihad coming to the streets of America

17 May 2007: UPDATE: Doug Hagmann, director of the Northeast Intelligence Network, is scheduled to be a guest during a portion of the first hour on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory tonight.

Seven more arrested in St. Louis area weapons case

“We’re talking about professional Muslim men, mosque leaders, leaders within our communities who are actually helping young men train for the eventuality of urban combat. They know what they are doing, yet they lie right to our faces about these activities- and we’re told by our supervisors that we have to accept what they tell us at face value when they know damn well they are lying.” -Federal source, speaking on condition of anonymity

17 May 2007: As we reported on this web site on 3 May 2007 in our article titled Islamic jihad is coming to the streets of America, we stated that the threat of Islamic jihad inside the U.S. by young Muslim men is being vastly under-reported and warned that the threat was purposely being downplayed. Our report referenced the federal indictment unsealed the previous day naming Mousa M. ABUELAWI, 22 as one of eight Muslim men as defendants in a case involving the buying, selling or hiding of automatic weapons, an anti-personnel mine and other explosives. While we received some criticism that we were being broadly “alarmist” and over-stating the threat, federal authorities announced yesterday that seven-(7) additional Muslim men or adherents to the jihadist ideology have been charged in the weapons procurement scheme.

The additional defendants were identified as follows:

Thaer Abde SUMAD, 23, of Florissant, MO;
Mohamed JUDEH,20, of Maryland Heights, MO;
Abdikarin WARSAME, 28, Jennings, MO
Charley M. HUNT Jr., 45, Jennings, MO
Darnell T. THORNTON, 25, Jennings, MO
Hussein Ali NURE, 29, Jennings, MO
Otha L. BAKER, 20, no address listed.
According to the indictment, Abuelawi bought a M-16 rifle and a Claymore mine from a government informant in November 2006, and also purchased a Heckler & Koch MP5 fully automatic submachine gun and another M-16 on December 27, 2006.

Defendant Thaer Abde SUMAD, 23, succinctly stated: “We’re going to war.” If convicted of the charges, the men could spend ten-(10) years in federal prison. The irony of the prison term, according to analysts of the Northeast Intelligence Network, is that if convicted and while incarcerated, the men will have unfettered access to Muslim imams - largely unscreened for their political and ideological beliefs - who could be sympathetic to the more fundamentalist Wahabbi ideology, which is something that could be a factor upon their release.

Another theft of device containing radioactive material reported

16 May 2007: A gauge containing radioactive material has been stolen from a locked vehicle in Franklin County, Pennsylvania within the last 10 days. The most recent theft adds to the growing list of stolen devices containing material that can be used for the construction of a “dirty bomb.” The radioactive material is contained inside a Troxler brand moisture density gauge and housed inside of a yellow container.

The gauge containing the radioactive substance is owned by Valley Quarries of Chambersburg, PA. The company is offering a $1,000 reward for its return.
