The Lodi, California “Terror Cell”

al Qaeda Terrorists Arrested in California

Affadavit: “Hamid advised that he specifically requested to come to the United States to carry out his jihadi mission.” “Potential targets for attack would include hospitals and large food stores.”

By Douglas J. Hagmann, Director

8 June 2005: Lodi: Federal agents have broken up an al Qaeda terrorist cell operating in the San Joaquin County city of Lodi, California, about 40 miles south of Sacramento. Agents of the Joint Terrorism Task Force arrested Hamid Hayat, 22, and his father Umer Hayat, 47, a Lodi ice cream truck driver on Sunday. The arrests took place less than a week after the younger Hayat was found aboard a San Francisco-bound plane even though his name appeared on a no-fly list of suspected Islamic terrorist operatives.

Hamid Hayat admitted attending al Qaeda training camps in Pakistan in 2003 and 2004 to learn “how to kill Americans.” He was trained to use explosives and weapons, and practiced by using photographs of President Bush and other high-profile U.S. political figures as targets, according to court documents.

Hamid Hayat originally lied to FBI agents about whether he had received training, had his pick of where to carry out a terrorist attack, which potentially could have targeted hospitals and large food stores. Meanwhile, the task force arrested Hayat’s father, Umer Hayat on charges that he lied about his son’s involvement and his own financing of the terror camp and his son’s attendance, where he reportedly paid $100 each month to his son. Both suspects are currently being held in Sacramento County Jail.

Two More Arrested on Immigration Violations

Federal authorities also arrested Muhammed Adil Khan and Shabbir Ahmed on immigration violations and are being questioned about their role in potential terror plans in the U.S., the Northeast Intelligence Network has learned. Shabbir Ahmed was Imam of the Lodi Mosque, and Khan was a former imam who is leading efforts to build the Farooqia Islamic Center, including a school for children up to fourth grade.

FBI agents searched Ahmed’s poplar Street residence, located next door to the mosque, and another house on the 300 block of Acacia Street, about four blocks from the mosque. Both men were arrested after meeting separately with Umer Hayat on Saturday.

Interestingly, in the days following the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Islamic leader Khan condemned the attacks. Several months later, Khan joined the leaders of local Christian churches and a synagogue to issue a Declaration of Peace condemning terrorism and stressing the common origins of each religion. It is for this very reason that all Americans should become familiar with the Islamic term Taqqiyaa, which is the Islamic doctrine of deception of non-Muslims as permitted by the Qu’ran.

Lodi Arrests: Template For Terrorist Cells Across America

9 June 2005: Lodi: From the terrorist training camps in Pakistan to the mosques in America, we are engaged in war of deception. That “war of deception” is being waged on us as the recent arrests in Lodi illustrate. As heard the The Pat Campbell Show this morning, agency director Doug Hagmann noted that the very same Islamic Imams who vociferously “condemned” the 9/11 attacks are embroiled in the alleged training of Islamic terrorist operatives planning to use their skills to kill us here in America. This is a perfect example of the contemptuous intolerance of Islam again all other faiths, and the deceit permitted by the Islamic Qu’ran and Hadith when justified in “fighting the enemy.”

Muhammed Adil Khan, pictured above, led efforts to build the Farooqia Islamic Center, including an Islamic a school for young children. He also joined the leaders of local Christian churches and a synagogue to issue a “Declaration of Peace” condemning terrorism and stressing the common origins of each religion. Yet, that same Imam is alleged to be among up to a dozen others in the same group or “cell” involved in providing material support to potential terrorist operatives inside the U.S.

We are being provided with ample warning signs about the intentions of Islamic militants in the U.S. who live and work among us. According to law enforcement sources close to the Lodi investigation, there will be additional detentions and possible arrests. But the story does not stop there. The Lodi case is a virtual template of Islamic groups across the country, feigning religious tolerance while actively engaged in Al-Takeyya, which permits Muslims to engage in lies and deceit to further their cause of Jihad. (The basis for this practice can be found in the Quranic verse Surah 3:28). The question is will we recognize this practice and become proactive before it is too late?

Don’t be fooled - what is happening in Lodi is also happening in small town and large cities across the U.S.

Lying in Lodi: Key Witness in Trial Declines to Testify

29 November 2005: Safdar AFZAL, a “key witness” in a federal terrorism investigation relating to Lodi residents Hamid Hayat, 23, and his father Umer Hayat, 47, invoked his right to avoid self-incrimination at a bail hearing for the suspects who are currently incarcerated on terrorism related charges.

AFZAL reportedly made statements to federal investigators that were inconsistent with his court testimony on Monday, and consequently opted not to provide further testimony at the risk of facing charges of lying to investigators. AFZAL is one of three men - all owners of real estate in San Joaquin Valley - who intended to use their real estate holdings to satisfy the $1.2 million bond placed on the elder Hayat to insure that he appears for trial.
