Fuel truck stolen at gunpoint near DC [FOUND]

19 October 2007: Just after 1:00 p.m., the stolen tanker was found abandoned in southwest Washington.

19 October 2007: A black male wearing a blue jumpsuit stole a fuel tanker truck carrying 7100 gallons of diesel fuel at gunpoint early this morning on the 3100 block of Vera street in Baltimore, Maryland. The red Peterbuilt truck and tanker trailer were last seen heading towards I-95. According to Baltimore City Police Spokesman Sterling Clifford, the incident is being investigated as a robbery and “There is no connection to terrorism at this point.” Nonetheless, the Joint Terrorism Task Forces from Washington and Baltimore are assisting local Police in this investigation as a precaution and the Maryland Department of Homeland Security is monitoring the situation.
