Operational Success in Somalia
1 May 2008: A U.S. led, pre-dawn missile strike killed al Qaeda's top commander in Somalia today. Aden Hashi AYRO, a commander in the al-Sabab terrorist organization, the armed wing of the Council of Islamic Courts, was killed when at least four Tomahawk cruise missiles struck a series of single family residences inside of a compound in Dusamareeb.
Doug Hagmann, director of the Northeast Intelligence Network, reported during the first hour of Coast to Coast AM with George Noory tonight that the death of AYRO is being described as an "unqualified success" by a number of U.S. military and intelligence leaders. His death is being mourned by various terrorist groups, including leaders within al Shabab. Mukhtar ROBOW, a spokesman for al-Shabab, issued a statement calling AYRO a martyr. ROBOW also stated that the Council of Islamic Courts is committed to "the continuation of Holy War," and the implementation of Sharia law in Somalia.

CAIR supports Carter - HAMAS meeting
12 April 2008: HAMAS has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization under the 1996 Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act (AEDPA). That law states that the Secretary of State is authorized to designate an organization as a “foreign terrorist organization” if the following three conditions are met:
1. The organization is foreign;
2. The organization engages in terrorist activity;
3. The terrorist activity threatens the security of United States
citizens or the national security of the United States.
Under the AEDPA, people who provide funds or other material support to a designated FTO are breaking the law and may be prosecuted.
Despite the FTO designation, former U.S. President Carter is planning to meet with senior officials of the Palestinian terror group HAMAS next week. Commenting on Carter's proposed visit, a U.S. State Department official said that "U.S. policy is that Hamas is a terrorist organization; we don't believe its in the interest of our policy or in the interest of peace to have such a meeting."
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Hooper, communications director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said "Carter's efforts demonstrate he's a true partner in peace."

Coordinated laser attacks against passenger aircraft in Australia
1 April 2008: Starting last Friday, at least six passenger aircraft flying into Sydney, Australia were “painted” by lasers as they approached the airport in Sydney. According to Australian authorities, the attacks forced the airplanes to change their flight paths and delay their landings into Sydney. The attacks against the aircraft, described as “coordinated,” consisted of four separate lasers situated in separate locations and lasted upwards of 15 minutes. An investigation of the incident determined that the lasers appear to have originated from the Bexley area of south-western Sydney.
Another laser incident was reported last night, disrupting the flight path of another Sydney-bound plane. Australian police reported that a laser was pointed at a commercial aircraft that was traveling from Cairns to Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport. The incident took place at about 9:30 p.m. local time and apparently originated from the Bossley Park area.
Laser “attacks” against commercial and military aircraft is not new, especially in the U.S. The Northeast Intelligence Network has been reporting on such attacks worldwide for the last four years, including laser activity in Australia in March 2007.

27 March 2008: Fitna - the movie. Superb film...
28 March 2008: It is unfortunate, but not entirely unexpected, that LiveLeak was forced to remove the documentary "Fitna" due to death threats to their staff. While we understand and respect their decision, the administrators and staff of the Northeast Intelligence Network feel that the information provided in the film is too valuable to fall victim to such tactics. After careful consideration and with the full support of those associated with the Northeast Intelligence Network, I have decided to make the film available for viewing.
The Northeast Intelligence Network has always been - and will continue to be - a beacon of truth and a purveyor of truth, regardless of where it might lead.

Al Qaeda's Zawahiri Audio Message: Attack Israel & U.S.
"Let us strike their interests everywhere, just as they gathered against us from everywhere, and let them know that every dollar they spend on the killing of Muslims, there will be shed blood instead in return."
23 March 2008: Muslim terrorist and al Qaeda's second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahiri issued an audio statement early today that was uploaded to web sites used by Islamic terrorists and sympathizers. Zawahiri instructed Muslims everywhere to attack Israel and the U.S., including all related interests, "in defense of the Palestinians in Gaza."
The statement from al Zawahiri follows the recent messages from al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, who called on Muslims fight for the "liberation" of the Palestinians. A CIA analysis of the audio verified the authenticity of the message.

New Osama bin Laden Audio Message

Graphic used for Osama bin Laden audio message
19 March 2008: A posting today by as-Sahab Productions, the media wing of al Qaeda, features a five minute, three second recorded warning by Osama bin Laden to the European countries that published the controversial cartoons of the Islamic Prophet Mohammed. Bin Laden described the publication of the drawings as a greater crime than Western forces targeting Muslim villages and killing women and children.
The audio track with English subtitles is presented over the above image of bin Laden holding an AK-47 automatic rifle. Its release coincided with the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War.
In addition to being an overt threat against EU member countries, the message contained a cryptically worded statement that the response to the publication of the cartoons will be "what you see, not what you hear."
